hello

so, i've been meaning to write in here more often than i actually have been. there are a couple of reasons:

a) the blog thing is so strange. you just put the info out there and you don't really know who's reading it. i mean, i know all the people i sent the link to, but all in different contexts... and who
knows, maybe the link has been passed on to some people i don't even know. in any case, i'm feeling strangely self conscious. but i'll try to get over it.

b) i've been avoiding computers for the last week or so. i have some strange eye thing happening and it gives me some pretty intense headaches when i stare at a computer screen. so i got glasses to try and correct it and they help a lot but it's still not perfect. so this may be short.

c) i've just been lazy about it.

ok. now. i'm currently in Berkeley, CA staying with friends: Matt and Ara. I arrived saturday afternoon after a long-ish jet blue flight that was mostly ok and only a couple hours claustrophobic. nabia and i spent saturday afternoon asking matt and ara to follow us around while we did some last minute errands (fun times!) at REI (outdoor store) and walgreen's. then we all went out to yummy dinner and promptly fell asleep.

yesterday (sunday), nabia and i spent the morning asking matt and ara to watch us as we re-organized our entire packs and put everything in little baggies - be they stuff sacks, plastic bags, or ziplocs. ziploc is my new bestest friend. bestest. then we headed into "the city"
(a.k.a. san francisco). matt, ara, and i separated from nabia, who was staying elsewhere last night, and went astrollin' around. we got ara some shoes, ran into a veteran's day parade, got lots of free chocolate at ghirardelli, saw some awesome taiko drumming in union square, went to the city lights bookstore (famous for its beat poetry ties), and ate at the stinking rose restaurant (famous for the TONS of garlic. their motto is "we flavor our garlic with food!"). yum. then
we came back and i got a lovely serenade from ara with matt's guitar and some beauteous folk songs, and i also got a LOVELY massage from the both of them. then we listened to some music and all promptly fell asleep.

now it's monday. i'm flying out eeeeeeaaarrly tomorrow morning from sacramento - which means an earlier bus or train from here to sacramento. it feels like i'm leaving and i only just got here, which is sad, but so it goes. i only had a few days :(.

in any case, i'm having a pretty good time so far, and if this eye thing would just stop giving me headaches and making me nauseous, i'd be doing fantastically. shout out to matt and ara for letting me stay and showing me a great time. i just said shout out. and i meant it too.

ok. that's all for now.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Matt for being just so dashing and good looking. I've been admiring him from afar for years now.

I also shall post anonymously. I too had a crush on Matt Sergi. This crush lasted approximately 3 weeks until I got to know Matt. Getting to know him ended said crush. ooooooooooo
