farewell, sweet moolah

so, i don't have time to write much tonight - my eyelids are heavy with the weight of a travel day on which much cash left my money belt. but purchases were well worth the dollars spent, when it comes down to it, and i will be happy to have them back at home. right now $50 feels like a lot to drop though. it can take you so far here...

anyway - in the days since last i wrote, there was more relaxing and laughing and eating by the black sand beaches of lovina, visiting of small village there, climbing of volcano and having an altogether surreal night, getting cheated and swindled a bit, and the gorgeous stay at sidemen, including rice padi exploration and cremation ceremony. i have much to share.

i will write about it tomorrow. and i miss your comments! (thanks to those who DO comment - i really don't know what i'd do if i checked back and there were none... i think i might stop writing. and i don't want to do that.)

things are well and moving along quickly - time keeps slipping by. i can't believe we've been in bali for over 2 weeks already... we're back in ubud now and i feel much more equipped to handle it. i know what i want and what i don't. i have seen bali now. not all of it, but enough to have an idea of what it is. so yeah. we are still travelling with kelly and tammy - making eachother laugh and giving eachother hugs. also making plans to go to winnipeg for their folk festival 2006. exCITing.

okie doke. more tomorrow, i think.

love,
amy

Hi Amy!

Don't worry, we haven't stopped reading your blog! Bali sounds amazing, and you sound like you are having a blast. NYC is sunny these days and spring has finally arrived (it is around 55 today). We miss you and can't wait to hear more of your adventures. :)

Good to have you back! I've checked daily (as you know I do), and have been watching hard for a new entry....and here it finally was today..hooray!! Glad you got to do "good" shopping....and that you are having fun with new friends. Will continue to follow your adventures. Where to next?
More details about the "swindled" comment, please...hope it wasn't anything too bad. Bye for now.

I'm eager to see your lovely purchases..I know how hard it is for you to part with your money. But what fun it will be to come home and have all your keepsakes here waiting for you (I assume you'll be shipping them home as usual)!

I saw pictures of Sideman online- looked exquisite, and I hope you enjoy your Ubud re-visit. Next up is East Java...how cool is that.

Spring has indeed sprung here, and it feels good.

Special hello to Kelly and Tammy- and Na too of course-
Much love,
mom
