two things.
first thing: we are fine. to be honest, we didn't even hear about the earthquake in Aceh. We landed in Bali safe and sound last night and are apparently pretty disconnected from world events. no one mentioned a thing. i don't even know if many people here in Bali know about it. and we even read the jakarta post today. anyway, i will do my best to stay out of the way of natural disasters in the future. trust me.
second thing: though i did not feel the earthquake, i DID lose my address book. that said, i would really like to fill in my new one. it's orange in memory of my first journal. so please please please email me your current mailing address if you ever want me to maybe send you anything at all. and just so i have it too.
third thing (i know i know but now i wanted to add a third thing): we're currently close to (not IN) the big resort-y part of Bali - the southern coast, but we head inland to Ubud tomorrow. it's supposed to be quite the arts center and i'm excited about it. we'll stay there for the better part of a week before maybe exploring some other parts of the island and then heading west to Java.
OK. signing off. thanks again for your concern, those of you who wrote or called or thought of me.
much love and few natural disasters,
amy

Hi Aim....
Really relieved to hear that all is well in travel-land. We know that there is no control over natural disasters, but isn't fine not to be where they are.
We are all fine and missing both of you. I spoke with Uncle Bob today who was just getting over a flu (:()but planning to go to the South of Franch for a few days-poor guy !
Finally got near 60 here in NY so we hope that winter is finally over.
Take a moment on Saturday to think of Bepa - it will be 10 years since he left us.....but don't let it be a downer.......he would have LOVED what y'all are doing !!
Love you
Dad

Three things are good...I was so glad to hear you were safe. I called your mom from the Tampa airport where I glimpsed the earthquake news on CNN as I was heading to the plane. Whew!! I had a good few days with Bema, and we talked about you adventurous ones of course. Love and hugs, Barbara
