I can't even begin to type out all the stuff we did for the last couple of days so here's the short short short version:
we left Kapa'a and went up the east coast and across the north shore of Kaua'i, stopping at several beaches and towns along the way. highlights include a secluded gorgeous beach called Moloa'a and lowlights include a failed snorkeling attempt which had leaky masks and dying reefs to make it horribly frustrating. we slept at a strange ymca and then watched a beautiful sunrise on the beach. we hiked the first 2 miles of the kalalau trail on the na pali coast (awesome), see shoes at left. We treated ourselves to a night in a real inn and a comfy double bed and a shower. Today, we slowly made our way back here to kapa'a, stopping at a lighthouse with a heck of a view, a guava plantation with lots of free samples, and several farmers' markets along the way. We made a delicious dinner tonight and are currently sitting around listening to several guys playing around on their guitars. good stuff.
i'll fill in the details later, maybe, but right now i would rather be joining the music.
'nite.
