time and brain cells to kill
first matter: pictures from vietnam, cambodia, thailand etc. our captions are particularly amusing. or nonsensical, depending on how you look at it. enjoy.
second matter: so we're here in the changi airport, singapore, having completed most but not all of our errands set out for us in the past two and a half days. it felt much like an obstacle course or endurance test: how many pictures can you label before your eyes fall out? how many bullet points can you do before you get grumpy? how many travel speakers can you find and which one's the best?
but here we are, it's currently 12:05am, we've been here and wandered for an hour already, and our 2:15 flight's departure has been pushed back to 3:15 already. and it's an 11 hour flight. luckily, 4 hours in the changi airport is better than 4 hours anywhere else. free internet, tv, comfy chairs, a movie theater, i think i saw a sign for a swimming pool somewhere... unfortunately, it's night and we're supposed to be sleeping. but i guess we can do that on the plane. but on the plane there's a personal tv screen and movies to watch. alas... what to do what to do.
anyway, when next i write i will be in africa. continent #3 of this trip. plans are being sorted as we speak and i'm excited to have plans booked and credit cards charged and no refunds or returns all sales are final. then at least i won't have to think about it so much anymore.
i am also getting more and more excited about home. don't get me wrong, this next bit is going to rock the hizzouse, but home's gonna be really good too. i'll need to sleep for about 2 weeks straight to catch up and rehabilitate myself with yoga and stretching and do some major detox and all that stuff, but it'll be good to have a room and a bed and a closet instead of all of that fitting into one bag i can lug around on my back.
and, of course, you all are there. well, not all, but many. and closer than you are now.
i'm flying halfway home now, the other half to be completed in less than three months. in less time than it takes for the warranty on my brand new travel speakers to expire, i'll be back stateside.
much love,
amy
